Smith College Investment Club

The Smith College Investment Club (formerly the Smith Student Investment Club) was launched in Fall 2002. The goals of the club are twofold: to give Smith students the opportunity for hands-on experience with investing, and to make a positive financial contribution to the Smith community.

SCIC student members are responsible for managing and investing an endowment of over $100,000. Club members meet on a regular basis to discuss asset allocation, analyze fund performance and decide how to successfully operate a well-diversified portfolio. Eighty percent of the portfolio's dividends are donated to Smith College Financial Aid (75%) and to the Student Government Association (25%) for campus-wide activities.
